Statue of Unity
The Statue of Unity is the world’s tallest statue with a whopping height of 182 metres. Behold an architectural marvel that is more than just a statue, nestling exhibition hall, viewing gallery and even a large lift inside it. Surrounded by mountains, rivers and dam, the Statue of Unity is one of the finest places to visit not only in Gujarat, but also India.
Sardar Sarovar Dam
One of the 30 dams planned on river Narmada, Sardar Sarovar Dam (SSD) is the largest structure. The foundation stone of the project was laid out by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on 5 April 1961. It is reckoned as one of the largest dams in the world and India’s third highest concrete dam, a large hydraulic engineering project comprising construction of a series of large irrigation and hydroelectric multi-purpose dams on the Narmada River.
Valley of flowers
A one-of-its-kind garden, the Valley of Flowers is spread across 600 acres, which is 6 kms away from Vindhyachal and 11 kms away from Satpuda range. What began as a garden with 48,000 plants in 2016 went on to nurture 2,40,000 plants in three years.
Soak into the wonders of nature with 5 unique thematic parks like Garden of Senses, Panchatva Garden, Green Energy and Upcycling Park, Sardar Park, Adventure Park and the popular Butterfly Garden, which was launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
The Cactus Garden
A unique and fascinating plant with a multitude of shapes and sizes, the cactus can withstand extremely harsh environments with thorns and spikes all over them. Gujarat Ecological Education and Research (GEER) Foundation, an autonomous body set up by the Forests & Environment Department, Govt. of Gujarat has taken the initiative of creating a Cactus Garden spread across 836 square metres nestling over 500 species of cactus and succulent plants.
Butterfly Garden
When it comes to gazing at nature’s beauty, nothing compares to the fluttering wings of butterflies. The Butterfly Garden is one-of-its-kind garden, which nurtures plentitude of 38 species of butterflies flying across 6 acres of landscaped area with 45 species of plants. Apart from places for butterflies to lay eggs and plants for caterpillars to thrive, there are interactive spaces created for selfies that enable you to carry along your memories of the Butterfly Garden.
Zarwani Waterfalls
Located amid the Satpuda mountain range, the Zarwani Waterfalls is a popular destination among tourists and nature lovers of Gujarat. Monsoon is the time when the waterfall blooms into its full glory with its mystical sprays that leave the visitors mesmerized. The water is so clean at Zarwani Waterfalls that you can spot small fishes swimming inside it or perhaps you can watch your feet being tickled by the colourful fishes.
Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary
Spread across an area of 607.70 sq. kms, the Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary includes two water reservoirs against the backdrop of Rajpipla Hills. Get serenaded by the charms of nature with this temple surrounded by lush vegetation which is a huge habitat to varied flora and fauna, with over 575 species of flowering plants and is home to 32 species of mammals, several species of reptiles, 198 species of birds and many animals, including the rare flying squirrels.
Rajavant Palace
Built by Maharana Chhatra Sinhji for his son Yuvraj Vijay Sinhji in 1910 AD before ascending his throne in September 1915, the Vijay Palace will leave you spellbound with its majestic glory. The palace has Victorian architecture with semi-circular portico as the entrance, Corinthian pillars, Gothic arches, European domes and breathtaking views of the river. An old-world charm that you just cannot miss!
Garudeshwar
Home to the temple of Garudeshwar Mahadev, Garudeshwar is an ancient temple of Lord Shiva located on the Northern bank of Narmada River, near Rajpipla. The temple offers tranquility that connects you with your inner self and explore your spiritual side. Garudeshwar is around 2000 years old. It is said that Lord Shiva took the form of an eagle to destroy evil forces, which is the reason it is called Garudeshwar.
Nilkanthdham
A beautiful construction established on the lands of Poicha, Nilkanth Dham is dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan. It is constructed by the banks of Narmada River with zone, the Park Zone, Kids Play zone, Food Court and many much more. The light shows at evening attract many visitors at Nilkanthdham, where the sight of vibrant light and sound leaves them asking for more, amid the serene environs soaked in spirituality.
