About the World’s Tallest Statue
The world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, was created as a tribute to the ‘Iron Man of India,’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The Statue of Unity is broadly divided into five zones, of which three are accessible to the general public. These include a memorial garden and museum, an exhibition area, and a Viewing Gallery that can accommodate up to 200 visitors at a time. Located at a height of 153 metres, the Viewing Gallery offers spectacular panoramic views of the Sardar Sarovar Dam, its vast reservoir, and the surrounding Satpura Range and Vindhya Range.
The remaining two zones include the maintenance area and a proposed zone at the head and shoulders of the monumental statue. These areas are currently restricted to the general public.
